Animal Attacks – Avoiding and Dealing With Them

Posted by: admin  :  Category: animal wild

Wild animal attacks are not common. Dogs that live among us are a much more common danger. But there is something about being attacked by a wild animal that is especially disturbing. Of course, we want to avoid this nightmare, and if unavoidable, we want to survive it. Some tips on doing both follow.

Moose Attacks

More common than bear attacks, moose attacks can be just as dangerous. A bull moose can weigh over 1500 pounds. Attacks in the fall, during the mating season, are most likely. Winter is the second most common time – they are just pissed off because of all the snow and lack of things to eat.

Be especially watchful during fall and winter, then to avoid an attack. When you see a moose, watch closely. Do its ears fold back, or the hair on its neck stand up? Does it clench it’s teeth? These signs show that it is upset and may attack you.

Go behind something big, like a boulder or tree. If possible, run and get into a stand of trees, but be sure they are not too bushy – you need room to maneuver, in case the moose continues the chase. The good news is that most moose attacks are “bluff attacks,” which end shortly after they begin.

Mountain Lion Attacks

These animal attacks are not normally a bluff. Fight with everything you’ve got, using rocks, your walking stick, a knife – anything. A jogger in Colorado successfully got a cougar to let go of his head (it was in the animal’s jaws) by sticking his thumb into the cat’s eye. You have to convince the mountain lion that you’re not the easy meal he thought you were.

Before an attack – when you and the cat are looking at each other – your goal is the same. Let him know you’re trouble, and look big, by standing tall with your jacket opened up. Yell, and slowly back away while looking for a weapon. Whatever you do, don’t turn and run or crouch down – behaviors that will trigger the mountain lion’s instinct to attack.

Bear Attacks

These come in two forms. The classic bluff attack is meant to scare you away, but may also kill you due to the size and strength of most bears. You can often survive by curling up on the ground and holding your hands around the back of your neck (to protect it).

The animal attacks when you surprise or threaten it – or its cubs. Bears in these circumstances make a lot of noise and may charge you repeatedly, stopping before contacting you. Avoid eye-contact and back away slowly.

The other type of bear attack is predatory. These are rare, but both black bears and grizzlies occasionally prey on humans for food. Such attacks are quieter. The bear will have its head down and come straight at you, watching you closely. He is assessing whether you are an easy meal or not.

In this case, don’t play dead or you will be. Yell, make noise, and look for a weapon. In a worst-case scenario, you might have to fight for your life. Fortunately, most adult grizzly bears can’t climb trees, so if there is a lot of space still between you (these bears are fast), you can try climbing to safety.

Various Other Animal Attacks

Ellephants may swing their trunks, kick up dirt and hold their ears out before an attack – and make noise. Get yourself behind a large rock or tree. If that isn’t an option, run downhill – elephants are slower going downhill.

Snakes usually are just warning you, so step away slowly. It is very unlikely that a snake will chase you. Avoid the problem to begin with by watching the trail carefully and probing with a walking stick before stepping over logs.

Get between mother baboon and her baby, and the whole troop may attack. Back away, while shouting and clapping. Drop any food you have in your hands, and don’t yawn or stare – these are signs of agression to baboons..

Don’t feed wild animals, or provoke them. Learn to use the zoom function on the camera instead of getting closer to wild animals. Basically, just use common sense to avoid animal attacks, and the rules above to deal with them.

Gauteng Animal Lodge is the Place to be

Posted by: admin  :  Category: animal wild

Gauteng is the smallest province in South Africa (in terms of size only), having only 1.4 percent of all the land area. However, it is very urbanized and it has the highest population of all South African provinces. Gauteng province was named in the year 1994, when it was formed after South Africa became a free country and the first democratic elections.

If you are inclined to believe that the Gauteng province is not significant to Africa and does not really describe the African experience, you would be incorrect. Gauteng is the central economical hub of Africa and also offers Gauteng animal adventure, safari tours and a variety of Gauteng animal lodges. Gauteng offers a piece of the Africa that everybody wants to see.

This little province can offer you both the thrills and incredible experiences that only Africa can, but it can also offer you the biggest shopping malls in the Southern hemishere and world class entertainment. These are the most important two reasons you should definitely take time to visit this incredible part of the world.

Where better to see wild animals than in Africa? Gauteng animal lodges can offer you the luxury and the privacy that you only have at home, spiced with Africa. Depending on your specific need, you can even witness wild animals running around you or possibly within direct reach going on an open air game drive.  These game drives can be so exciting and thrilling that you sense a definate scare within your inner being.  Some travelers and adventurers have even experienced their safari landrovers/safari bush vehicles being rocked.  (This of course only happens when going with inexperienced adventure tour providers or staying at inexperienced Gauteng game lodges.

It is a well known fact that the beauty of Africa consists mainly of the amazing wildlife that you can see. When you need to feel alive and experience one of the most thrilling adventures, Gauteng animal adventure is the answer for you. Do not imagine that you are going to sleep on the ground and hunt for a living, although this would be in fact a real adventure. You are going to stay in a beautiful, fully equipped lodge, like many in Africa, and enjoy the wildlife. Gauteng can also offer you luxury tented accommodation, game/safari guest houses/ bed and breakfasts (B&B) or game self catering options.

Africa is a jewel of the world and animals are the jewel of Africa. There is nothing more beautiful than a leopard strolling just a few feet away from you or a lioness taking care of her cubs. You might say that you can see those animals in a zoo – still, you will never actually see those animals unless you see them in their home. Animals in the wild portray their natural instinctive behaviour.  This is their home: Gauteng, South Africa.  Staying at a Gauteng game lodge affords you the opportunity to experience this natural wildlife or staying in other accommodation in Gauteng also affords you the opportunity to experience Gauteng’s adventures by a mere drive.

Gauteng animal lodge is the best place to stay at when you visit South Africa, and the thrills of such an adventure will never be forgotten. You can enjoy wildlife, the way of living in this part of the world and Gauteng animal adventure, while having all the comfort you need.

Many people imagine Africa wild and free, and this is how it actually is, this being the charm of Africa. However, this charm is combined with practicality, comfort and new, giving you all you need and much more than that. Gauteng is the true essence of these words and if you want to say animal adventure, safari or animal lodge, then you are definitely talking about Gauteng. There are many things that could make your visit to South Africa and Gauteng special and adventurous – staying at a Gauteng animal lodge is surely one of them. Why are you still waiting?

Animals For Adoption

Posted by: admin  :  Category: animal wild

When I was talking to my daughter, who was seven years old at the time, about adopting a panda, I neglected to explain the concept properly. She asked me if our house was big enough for a panda and what would we feed it on! Much as I would really like a pet panda, I don’t think I’d cope very well. I remember that episode of The Simpsons when Bart won an elephant. Animals for Adoption, as far as wild animals are concerned, is not so hands on.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), have an adoption scheme that works very well. The idea is to choose an animal from their Animals for Adoption program and commit to paying an amount of money each month. The money goes towards the conservation of that animal in it’s natural surroundings. The WWF doesn’t operate zoos but is committed to preserving endangered species in their natural habitat.
The choice of animals that the WWF offers is the Giant Panda, Orangutan, Bottlenose Dolphin, Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant and Black Rhino. The Animals for Adoption scheme enables you to feel part of the excellent work that the WWF does. On joining the scheme and choosing your individual animal, you receive a certificate, a photograph of the animal and a soft toy. You also get a fact sheet about the species and information on how to be environmentally aware.
Each species is on the endangered list for one reason or another and would be in an even worse state if not for the public support of the WWF and similar organizations.

Animals for adoption plays an important part in conservation and raising awareness.
The Giant Panda is greatly affected by forest clearing for timber and agriculture. There is also the problem of overgrazing. Habitat destruction is also a problem for the Orangutan, as land is cleared for agriculture and commercial logging. The Borneo and Sumatra islands are now the only places left on Earth where wild Orangutans can be found.
Bottlenose Dolphins have their own problems at the hand of humans. The oceans are increasingly polluted and dolphins are frequently caught up in fishing tackle. As the shipping lanes become busier, they are in danger of colliding with ships. The Animals for Adoption scheme is vital for the depleted numbers of Bengal Tiger in Nepal, who are in constant danger from poachers. It’s hoped that the patrols that have been put in place can help the situation.
The demand for the horn of the Black Rhino has made this species very rare. The powder derived from the horn has long been a favored ingredient for traditional Chinese medicine. Again, habitat clearance for agriculture and logging is putting the Asian Elephant under threat. Animals for Adoption is one way to show you care about all these endangered animals.

In the Bible: Man Was Created the Same Day That the Wild Animals Were

Posted by: admin  :  Category: animal wild

This is a new series (1-26) of Verse No. in the Bible versus the Quran.

Verse No. 26 in the Old Testament says: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Verse No. 26 in the New Testament says: Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,

Verse No. 26 in the Noble Quran says: or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightning. they thrust their fingers in their ears by reason of the thunder-claps, for fear of death, Allah encompasses the disbelievers (in his guidance, his omniscience and his omnipotence).

————————

The verse No. 26 in the Old Testament is Genesis 1:26

The verse continues talking about the last day of the creation of the heavens and the earth, it says: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Man was created the same day that the wild animals were created

Now we are on the sixth day of the creation of the heavens and the earth; on that day God created the beasts, the wild animals and the livestock as well as man i.e. man was made the same day that the beasts were made.

Is man the last of all the God’ creatures? in Bible versus Quran

According to Genesis 1:26,  the sixth day of the creation of the heavens and the earth was done and Man was made last of all the creatures. In the Quran: Allah is still Creating and He Will Create new creatures which WE DO NOT KNOW.

Verse 16:8 of the Noble Quran says:

QARIB: He has created for you horses, mules, and donkeys, which you ride and as an adornment; and He creates what you do not know.

It should be emphasized that the verb create in this verse (16:8) comes in the present tense, that in Arabic indicates the permanence and the continuity of the action both in the present time and in the future. This declares that Allah is still creating and He will create new creatures which WE DO NOT KNOW.

One has to become aware of this fact!

————————

The verse No. 26 in the New Testament is Matthew 2:1

The verse says: Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,

Who is Herod?

Herod was the king of Judea who (according to the New Testament) tried to kill Jesus by ordering the death of all children under age two in Bethlehem.

why did king Herod want to kill Jesus?

The Biblical Scholars say that, Herod was ruthless and power hungry. He would stop at nothing. Previously, he had murdered his wife, his three sons and his uncle, as well as countless other people. Jesus was a threat to him so killing many infants in order to get rid of Jesus was Herod’s plan.

Who are the Magi?

The Magi are the wise men, generally assumed to be three (or more) in number, who traveled to Bethlehem to pay homage to the infant Jesus.  They are the class of Zoroastrian priests in ancient Media and Persia, reputed to possess supernatural powers.

Magus is one of the Magi who is a magician, sorcerer, astrologer. or a Zoroastrian priest.

From Middle English magi, from Latin mag?, pl. of magus, sorcerer, magus, from Greek magos, from Old Persian maguš.

Magi in Arabic is Magous

Magi is translated from Arabic to English as Magians

However, Magi in Arabic is “Magous”

In contrary to English, Magous is the plural form; its single form is “Magousee”.

Magous are three or more in number; Magousee is only one person.

The Magous are the worshippers of the sun and fire;

They believe that anything either comes from the light or the darkness.

The good things come from the light.  The evil things come from the darkness.

That is why they worshipped the sun that is the source of light at day; and the Fire that was the source of light at night.  They had temples, priests, servants and festivals for the Fire that is considered as god in their faith. The Magous do not believe in the Hereafter.

Now the question is: Are the Magi wise men? Is the one who sets on and set off the Fire and worships it a wise man?

Verse No. 25 in the Noble Quran is 2:19,

Chapter 2 is Surah AL-BAQARA (THE COW),

Verses 2:8-20 are talking about the hypocrites

Verse 2:8 (See article 15) states that the hypocrites say: ‘we believe in Allah and the last day, ‘ yet they are not believers.

Verse 2:9 (See article 16) says: They think to beguile Allah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves; but they perceive not.

Verse 2:10 (See article 17) says: “There is a sickness in their (the hypocrites) hearts which Allah has increased; for them there is a painful punishment because they lie.”

Verse 2:11 (See article 18) says: when it is said to them: Do not corrupt in the land;  they (the hypocrites) say: we are only reformers.

Verse 2:12 (See article 19) says: are not they indeed the mischief-makers? but they perceive not.

Verse 2:13 (See article 20) says: and when it is said to them: believe as the people believe they say: shall we believe as the fools believe? now surely they themselves are the fools, but they do not know

Verse 2:14 (See article 21) says: when they meet those who believe, they say, ‘we, too believe. ‘ but when they are alone with their devils, they say to them: ‘we follow none but you, we were only mocking

Verse 2:15 (See article 22) says: Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and he leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

Verse 2:16 (See article 23) says: these are they who have bartered guidance for error: but their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction,

Verse 2:17 (See article 24)  says: their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness; they do not see.

Verse 2:18 (See article 25) says: deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).

Verse 2:19 continues talking about the hypocrites; and gives a strange social and scientific simile whereby the likeness of the hypocrites vis-à-vis the Quran. The verse says: or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightning. they thrust their fingers in their ears by reason of the thunder-claps, for fear of death, Allah encompasses the disbelievers (in his guidance, his omniscience and his omnipotence).

The meaning of verse 2:19:

Or like a rainstorm from the sky. This is another simile or parable, whereby the likeness of the hypocrites vis-à-vis the Quran is like rain that has poured down from heaven at night onto the wilderness, (wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightening). Such is the Quran.

For it has come down from Allah; it contains darkness as embodied in the exposition of seditions, thundering of rebuke whereby fear is instilled, lightening of exposition, instruction and promise.

They thrust their fingers in their ears by reason of the thunder-claps, due to the sound of the thunder (for fear of death), for fear of misfortune and death. Similarly, the hypocrites used to put their fingers in their ears when they heard the Quran recited, delivering promises and threats like thunder-claps, and this they did for fear of death, i.e. for fear of being drawn to it.

And Allah encompasses the disbelievers and hypocrites, i.e. He knows them and will gather them in Eternal Fire.

In other words, the likeness of them is as a cloudburst, that is, [the likeness of them is] as people are during rain; out of the heaven, out of the clouds, in which clouds is darkness, layer upon layer, and thunder, the angel in charge of them;

it is also said that this [thunder] is actually the sound of his voice; and lightning, the flash caused by his voice which he uses to drive them.  They, the people under the rain, put their fingers, that is, their fingertips, in their ears against, because of, the thunderclaps, the violent sound of thunder, in order not to hear it, cautious of, fearful of, death, if they were to hear it.

Similar is the case with these: when the Quran is revealed, in which there is mention of the unbelief that is like darkness, the threat of punishment that is like the sound of thunder, and the clear arguments that are like the clear lightning, they shut their ears in order not to hear it and thereby incline towards [true] faith and abandon their religion, which for them would be death; and Allah encompasses the disbelievers in both knowledge and power, so they cannot escape Him.

In the Bible: God Made the Wild Animals and He Saw That it Was Good

Posted by: admin  :  Category: animal wild

This is a new series (1-25) of Verse No. in the Bible versus the Quran.

Verse No. 25 in the Old Testament says: God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Verse No. 25 in the New Testament says: And he (Joseph) knew her (Saint Mary) not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Verse No. 25 in the Noble Quran says: (the hypocrites are) deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).

————————

The verse No. 25 in the Old Testament is Genesis 1:25

The verse continues talking about the creation of the heavens and the earth, it says: God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

In the sixth day of the creation of the heavens and the earth God commanded the beast of the earth, the wild animals and the livestock be produced after their kind and God saw that it was good.

————————

The verse No. 25 in the New Testament is Matthew 1:25

The verse continues talking about the birth of Jesus; it says: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

The verse declares that Joseph did not know Saint Mary till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

In other words, Joseph had no union with Saint Mary until she gave birth to Jesus i.e. he kept her a virgin until she gave birth to Jesus.

Again, in the articles 18-24, Saint Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant and because he was a righteous man and unwilling to put her to shame, he did not want to expose her to public disgrace. So, he decided to divorce Saint Mary!  But an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” which means, “God with us.”  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. Then, he kept her a virgin until she gave birth to Jesus.

On the other hand, the Muslims believe that Saint Mary, peace be upon her; is that

She lived and died as a “Pure, Untouched, and an Outstanding Virgin Woman”. although the Bible  insists that she was pledged to be married to Joseph, then she married him and then she had babies from him and then those babies are the brothers of God!  Also, the story of Matthew dismisses the miraculous birth of the Lord  Jesus; anyone lived back at that time of Matthew’ story would say that Jesus is the son of Joseph who is  the man of Saint Mary.

Verse No. 25 in the Noble Quran is 2:18,

Verse 2:17 says: their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness– they do not see.

Verse 2:18 continues talking about the hypocrites; and says: deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).

The meaning of verse 2:18

The hypocrites are:

deaf, to the truth, so that they cannot hear it and accept it;

dumb, mute as regards goodness, unable to speak of it; and

blind, to the path of guidance, so that they cannot perceive it;

And they shall not return from their disbelief and error.
